I especially appreciate learning the WHY behind the playing, a concept I have carried on into my own lessons.  In fact, when a student asks me about the CAGED method, or I emphasize practicing musical passages over purely technical ones, I often mention John’s name.  I find it adds credibility to the given concept, while also adding to John’s legacy!
